This workshop has two lathe machine G.D.2 & Shimoga 'O' of Kirloskar make with Key cutting & Taper turning attachments, and also Surface Grinder, Boring cum Drilling Machine, Milling Machine '0' number. Power Hacksaw, electric welding set, spot welding set, and gas welding set.
The workshop undertakes the fabrication of precision parts of scientific instruments (imported and Indian) such as SEM stub holders, stubs of different size and shapes, filters bodies and also couplings, adopters, nipples, nozzles, motor shafts, bushes, small gears and diaphragms or as per the requirement of the user.
Design and development of new small scientific instruments like rotary mixers, stirring equipments, reduction tube (stainless steel) in place of quartz glass tube for C.H.N. analyser sample holders filter paper cutting presses, filter bodies of stainless steel, couplings for syringes and laos as per the requirement of the user.
Repair and maintenance of instruments, like vacuum pumps, metering pumps, gas regulators, (Indian and Imported) valves, slide projectors, film projectors, microbalances, ultrasonic cell/electrostatic cell, air compressors, microtomes, microscopes, dumpy level and other geological equipments & hydraulic presses is carried out.
